Monster Island, The Asylum’s 2019 mockbuster, was released ironically around the same period as Godzilla: King of the Monsters. It is about an island called Monster Island; there may be a monster. The monster is, if I am not mistaken, the island itself.


Because it is a film about an asylum it has a budget equivalent to a large children's meal. This allows it to focus (right here) on a few characters and film all of its big stars' sequences in one location during lunch. However, let's not forget that this is a kaiju film, so maybe The Asylum will not do a terrible job?
